Higher mortgages rates and record home prices kept sales subdued for the second straight year


Existing-home sales in the U.S. in 2024, the lowest level since 1995, according to the National Association of Realtors. It was the second year of anemic sales due to high mortgage rates. Rising home insurance and property tax costs are also adding to expenses.
